Macbeth´s reaction to lady Macbeth's Death (Act 5 sc 5)
She should have died
hereafter;
There would have been a time for such a word.
There would have been a time for such a word.
To-morrow, and to-morrow, and
to-morrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day
To the last syllable of recorded time,
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

Looking at this paragraph, I am looking at lines it seems as though
Macbeth does care about his wife dying before her goes to battle. I would think
from a man that the husband would be more sympathetic about his wife dying. By
him saying “ she should have died hereafter” seems like he doesn’t care about
his wife. But I think that Macbeth wanted to her to die after the battle so that
he would have time to morn the death of his wife. I think Macbeth appreciates his
wife for pushing him to be great. Macbeth says “There would have been a time
for such word. To-morrow and to-morrow and to-morrow” , I think Macbeth wished
he had more time to talk to his wife and be with his wife before she dies. Macbeth
did not have to show emotion as a man because he was in the middle of battle. I also think that in the end Lady Macbeth was Macbeth's in a way rock and kept him together.
It was too soon for his wife to die and I think he wanted them to die together.
Towards the end of this excerpt, where Macbeth talks about his life by saying "Life's but a walking a shadow". I feel as though Macbeth believes that his existence is a ghost that he is already dead. He goes and walks on the earth just waiting to die. He then goes on to refer to himself as a "poor player" or actor telling a story about his life. He is the actor that struts across the stage with the spotlight on him and then eventually his life will cease to exist when the spot light is not on him. It feels as though Macbeth fears death at this point and that he will lose the crown which he did in the end.
